MCAT (methcathinone) urine test

Description

This test strip is made for the rapid detection in human urine of MethCathinone and its derivatives. It is 1-step rapid test dipstick, which gives a result in just 5 minutes.

MethCathinone and derivatives are currently the most consumed class of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS). Methcathinone is a substance derived from cathinone, which is one of the main active ingredients of Khat (also written Kat, Qat Ghat or Chat), a sub-Saharan plant grown for its psychotropic effects close to amphetamine. Methcathinone is a purely chemical derivative of this substance, which means that it is artificially synthesized in laboratories (illegal labs, mostly).

It has been popularized and continues to be sold under misleading names such as "bath salts", "plant fertilizers"  or "research chemicals", but it is actually a powerful psycho-stimulant used as a recreational drug.

We talk here about a "class" of drugs, because dozens of sub-derived molecules have also been developed in order to avoid international regulations on narcotics. Therefore, as soon as one of these molecules becomes prohibited, new slightly different molecules appear in order not be illegal, because they are not exactly the same as the ones already prohibited.

Until early 2016, no urine rapid test was existing for the detection of these drugs absue. Today, the new MethCathinones urine test allows a rapid (in minutes) and extremely reliable screening of this class of new synthetic drugs.

It is now possible to track the use of substances such as Mephedrone (or 4-MMC), 3-methylmethcathinone (or 3-MMC), 4-MEC, or even bk-MBDB (butylone) and bk-MDMA (methylone).

The NarcoCheck MethCathinone rapid test is the fastest way to be aware of a recent consumption of these dangerous new drugs of abuse. It is a qualitative immunoassay (type "NO / YES"), and thus delivers a "NEGATIVE" or "POSITIVE" result.

Note:

• This test is very specific to MethCathinones and doesn't cross-react with other synthetic drugs likes MDMA, amphetamines ormethamphetamine. This very high specificity allows a perfect determination of the drug being used and thus, facilitates the medical help.
• This test also doesn't cross-react with other new psychoactive substances like MDPV, for which we have another very specific test.

Technical data

Cut-off : 500 ng/ml

This test will be positive if the sample tested contains at least 500 nanograms of methcathinone per milliliter of urine, or negative if the sample contains less or not at all.

Detection time of MethCathinones in urine : 1 to 3 days after last methcathinone consumption.
