Description
This strip is made for the detection in human urine of propoxyphene, which is a substance intended to relieve moderately severe pain, felt by example after an operation or dental surgery.
Depending on the drug, the dosage is usually 4 times daily from 65 to 100 mg. Failure in respecting intervals between doses may cause the development of tolerance, which could lead to gradually increasing doses.
To avoid loss of control during treatment (propoxyphene can cause dependence), this substance is prescribed for short periods. However, addiction to this substance have already been observed, because consumers often seek to increase the effects of sleeping pills, tranquilizers, antihistamines, antidepressants, or even of certain drugs.
This test is a qualitative assay (type "NO / YES"), and thus delivers a "NEGATIVE" or "POSITIVE" result.
