Description
This strip is made for the detection in human urine of EDDP. The EDDP is the metabolite of Methadone (substitution treatment against heroin addictions), so EDDP is the molecule obtained after the human body has modified the basic molecule of Methadone in order to eliminate it. It is this metabolite that can be found in urine. .
This test is a qualitative assay (type "NO / YES"), and thus delivers a "NEGATIVE" or "POSITIVE" result.
Caution : this test will be negative when taking "natural" opiates, such as heroine, codeine or opium. Thus, this test is usable to verify that a patient is undergoing his treatment. You can also check that the patient didn't re-used heroine by using with our
MOR tests.
This test replaces the MTD tests used so far because it is more reliable and helps to prevent number of attempts to cheat. With a conventional MTD test, the result will be positive even if the patient puts few drops of methadone in his urine sample before the test. With the EDDP test, these manipulations are now doomed to failure, because it is not a simple methadone test, but a consumed methadone test (since it detects the metabolite).
Technical data
Cut-off : 100 ng/ml
This test will be positive if the sample tested contains at least 100 nanograms of EDDP per milliliter of urine, or negative if the sample contains less or not at all.
Detection time of EDDP in urine :
- 3 to 4 days after consumption.
